Abdullah bin Ka'b bin Malik (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from his father Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) that, in the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), he demanded a debt from Ibn Abi Hadrad (may Allah be pleased with him) in the mosque, until their voices were raised, until the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), who was in his house, heard their voices, until he (peace and blessings be upon him) came out to them; the curtain of his chamber was drawn back, until he (peace and blessings be upon him) saw Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him), and said: "O Ka'b bin Malik!" He said: At your service, O Messenger of Allah. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Leave off half of this debt of yours." He said: I have left it, O Messenger of Allah. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said (to Ibn Abi Hadrad): "Get up and pay him."
