حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو حُصَيْنٍ الْقَاضِي، ثنا يَحْيَى الْحِمَّانِيُّ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنِ ابْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ مِنْ تَوْبَتِي أَنْ أَنْخَلِعَ مِنْ مَالِي، وَأَنْ أَهْجُرَ دَارَ قَوْمِي الَّتِي أَصَبْتُ فِيهَا الذَّنْبَ، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «يُجْزِئُ عَنْكَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ الثُّلُثُ»
Sayyiduna Ka'b bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I said: "O Messenger of Allah! Part of my repentance is that I give up all my wealth, and that I also leave the house of my people in which I committed this sin." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "Giving up a third of it is sufficient for you."
