Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 16071 — the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: A servant

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ النَّضِّ الْأَزْدِيُّ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ وَاقِدٍ الْحَرَّانِيُّ، ثنا قَتَادَةُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ الرَّهَاوِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَمِّ أَبِيهِ هِشَامِ بْنِ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ بْنِ عَائِشٍ الْجُرَشِيُّ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لَنْ يَزَالَ الْعَبْدُ فِي فُسْحَةٍ مِنْ دِينِهَ مَا لَمْ يَشْرَبِ الْخَمْرَ، فَإِذَا شَرِبَهَا خَرَقَ اللهُ عَنْهُ سَتَرَهُ، وَكَانَ الشَّيْطَانُ وَلِيَّهُ وَسَمْعَهُ وَبَصَرَهُ وَرِجْلَهُ، يَسُوقُهُ إِلَى كُلِّ شَرٍّ، وَيَصْرِفُهُ عَنْ كُلِّ خَيْرٍ»
Sayyiduna Qatadah bin A'ish al-Jurashi (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A servant remains in ease within his religion as long as he does not drink wine. When he drinks wine, Allah tears away his covering, and Satan becomes his ally, his hearing, his sight and his foot; he drives him towards every evil and turns him away from every good."
