Ubayd bin Hunayn said: I was sitting when Sayyiduna Qatadah bin al-Nu'man (may Allah be pleased with him) came to me and said: O Ibn Hunayn! Come with us to Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him); I have been informed that he is ill. So we went to Abu Sa'id (may Allah be pleased with him) and found him lying on his back, with his right leg placed over his left. We greeted him with salam and sat down. Then Sayyiduna Qatadah bin al-Nu'man (may Allah be pleased with him) raised his hand and pinched Abu Sa'id's (may Allah be pleased with him) leg hard. Abu Sa'id (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Subhan Allah! O son of Adam, you have hurt me. He said: That is what I intended. Then he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, when Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, completed the creation of His creatures, He lay on His back and placed one of His legs over the other, and said: 'None of My creation should do this.'" So Abu Sa'id (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Certainly, by Allah, I will never do it.
