Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 16020 — I heard Sayyiduna Qays bin al-Sa'ib say

Mujahid (may Allah have mercy on him) said: I heard Sayyiduna Qays bin al-Sa'ib (may Allah be pleased with him) say: The month of Ramadan is such that a person can give a ransom (fidyah) for it, feeding one poor person for each day of it. So feed a poor person on my behalf with a sa' (of grain) for each day. And the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was my partner (in business) in the Days of Ignorance, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) was the best of partners: he neither disputed nor deceived.
