Sayyiduna Fadalah bin Ubayd (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) went out on the expedition of Tabuk, and the riding animals became severely exhausted. The people complained to him about it, and he saw that they were people who did not give their mounts rest. So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) looked at a narrow pass through which the people were passing, and he stood there while the people were passing, then he blew upon them (the mounts) and said: "O Allah, carry (riders) upon them in Your path, for You carry upon the strong and the weak, the moist and the dry, at sea and on land." So the mounts kept going steadily, until we entered Madinah while they were pulling at their reins against us (that is, they wanted to go faster).
