Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 15850 — it was said: O Messenger of Allah! My
حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِرْقٍ الْحِمْصِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو تَقِيٍّ هِشَامُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ، ثنا بَقِيَّةُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ، ثنا شُعْبَةُ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، إِنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ شَدَّادٍ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنِ الْفَضْلِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: قِيلَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّ أَبِي شَيْخٌ كَبِيرٌ لَا يَسْتَطِيعُ الْحَجَّ وَالْعُمْرَةَ، وَلَا الظَّعْنَ قَالَ: «حِجَّ عَنْ أَبِيكَ وَاعْتَمِرْ»
Sayyiduna al-Fadl bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that it was said: "O Messenger of Allah! My father is a very old man; he can perform neither Hajj nor Umrah, nor is he able to travel." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Perform Hajj and Umrah on behalf of your father."
