حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْمَسْرُوقِيُّ الْكُوفِيُّ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، قَالُوا: ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حَكِيمٍ الْأَوْدِيُّ، ثنا حُمَيْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرُّوَاسِيُّ، ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ السَّخْتِيَانِيِّ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، أَنَّ امْرَأَةً سَأَلَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ أَبِيهَا مَاتَ وَلَمْ يَحُجَّ قَالَ: «حُجِّي عَنْ أَبِيكِ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a woman asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) about her father, who had died without performing Hajj. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Perform Hajj on behalf of your father."
