حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زَيْدٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحِيمِ الْحَوْطِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ الْحَكَمُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ، ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ سَالِمٍ الْكِنْدِيِّ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ عِيَاضِ بْنِ غُطَيْفٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «إِذَا شَرِبَ الرَّجُلُ الْخَمْرَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ، ثُمَّ إِنْ عَادَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ، ثُمَّ إِنْ عَادَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ، ثُمَّ إِنْ عَادَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ، ثُمَّ إِنْ عَادَ فَاقْتُلُوهُ»
Sayyiduna Ghutayf Abu Iyad (may Allah be pleased with him) related: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "When a man drinks wine, flog him; then if he does it again, flog him again; then if he does it again, flog him again; then if he does it again, flog him again; then if he drinks a fifth time, kill him."
