It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ghudayf (may Allah be pleased with him) (or: Abu Ghusayf (may Allah be pleased with him)), a Companion of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever composes satire (hija', abusive verse) in Islam, cut off his tongue."
