Sayyiduna Imran bin Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Banu Amir had captured two men from among the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) captured a man from Thaqif, and also seized his she-camel on which he used to outrun the pilgrims. the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by him while he was tied up with a rope, and he called out: O Muhammad! O Muhammad! He (peace and blessings be upon him) turned towards him, and he said: For what am I being held, and why has the pilgrims' outstanding she-camel been seized? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Because of the crime of your allies," and Banu Amir were allies of Thaqif. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) moved on, and he called out again: O Muhammad! He (peace and blessings be upon him) answered him (and he said): I am a Muslim. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Had you said this when you were in control of your own affair, you would have attained complete success." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) moved on again, and he called out to him again; he (peace and blessings be upon him) came back to him, and he said: Feed me, for I am hungry. the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This is your real need," and he ordered food for him. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ransomed this man in exchange for his two companions who had been captured. Then some of the polytheists raided an outlying part of Madinah and seized that she-camel, and among what they seized was a woman as well; they took her to their encampment. In part of the night the woman got up among their camels - they used to keep the camels tethered right beside their tents - and whenever she came near a camel to ride it, it would groan, so she would leave it, until she came to the she-camel of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), which was a docile she-camel. It did not groan, so she sat on its hindquarters and then urged it on. The people were startled by her and rode off in pursuit of her. While she was riding on, with them behind her, she vowed that if Allah saved her on this she-camel, she would slaughter it. So she escaped. When she reached Madinah, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was informed and it was said: This is your she-camel; so-and-so (a woman) has brought it; Allah saved her on it from the polytheists. Then the woman and the she-camel were brought to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he asked her: "What did you do?" She told him the whole story and said: While they were pursuing me, I vowed that (if I escaped) on it, I would slaughter it. the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Then what an evil reward you would have given it! A vow to commit a sin is not fulfilled, nor a vow concerning something that the son of Adam does not own."
