Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 1528 — I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الْمَكِّيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّلْتِ أَبُو يَعْلَى التُّوزِيُّ، ثنا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ، وَعَبْدَةُ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ مُطْعِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ بِالْخَيْفِ خَيْفِ مِنًى: " نَضَّرَ اللهُ عَبْدًا سَمِعَ مَقَالَتِي فَحَفِظَها وَوَعَاهَا وَبَلَّغَهَا مَنْ لَمْ يَسْمَعْهَا فَرُبَّ حَامِلِ فِقْهٍ لَا فِقْهَ لَهُ وَرَبُّ حَامِلِ فِقْهٍ، إِلَى مَنْ هُوَ أَفْقَهُ مِنْهُ، ثَلَاثٌ لَا يُغِلُّ عَلَيْهِنَّ قَلْبُ مُؤْمِنٍ: إِخْلَاصُ الْعَمَلِ لِلَّهِ وَالنَّصِيحَةُ لِأَئِمَّةِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ، وَلُزُومُ جَمَاعَتِهِمْ، فَإِنَّ دَعْوَتَهُمْ، تُحِيطُ مَنْ وَرَاءَهُمْ "
Sayyiduna Jubayr bin Mut'im (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say at al-Khayf, the Khayf of Mina: "May Allah keep radiant the servant who heard my words, memorised them and preserved them, then conveyed them to one who did not hear them; for often the bearer of fiqh (understanding) is not himself a faqih, and often the bearer of fiqh conveys it to one who has more understanding than he. There are three things about which the heart of a believer never acts treacherously: sincerity of deeds for Allah, sincere goodwill towards the rulers of the Muslims, and staying with their community (jama'ah); for their call encompasses those behind them."
