Ibn Sama'ah from Awf bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him)
Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 15235 — I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ صَالِحٍ، حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِمَاسَةَ، عَنْ عَوْفِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «لِأَنْ يَمْتَلِئَ جَوْفُ أَحَدِكُمْ مِنْ عَانَتِهِ إِلَى لَهَاتِهِ قَيْحًا يَتَخَضْخَضُ، خَيْرٌ لَهُ مِنْ أَنْ يَمْتَلِئَ شِعْرًا»
Sayyiduna Awf bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "That the belly of one of you be filled from below his navel to his throat with pus sloshing around inside, is better for him than that it be filled with poetry."
