It is narrated from Sayyiduna Awf bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that one day the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I know the last person to enter Paradise. He will keep asking Allah to move him away from the Fire, and will not ask for Paradise. Then, when the people of Paradise have entered Paradise and the people of Hell have entered Hell, and he remains between them, he will say: O my Lord, what has happened to me here? Allah will say: O son of Adam, this is exactly what you used to ask Me for. He will say: Yes, O my Lord. Meanwhile, a tree will appear to him from the gate of Paradise, set inside Paradise, and he will say: O my Lord, bring me near this tree so that I may eat of its fruit and stay in its shade. Allah will say: O son of Adam, did you not ask Me for just this? He will say: O my Lord, there is none like You. He will keep seeing one thing better than another and keep asking, until it is said to him: Go, yours is everything your feet reach and your eye sees. He will walk until he grows tired, (then) point with his hand and say: This and this. Allah will say: This is yours, and the like of it along with it. He will be so pleased, for he will be given what none of the people of Paradise has been given, and he will say: If only I were given permission, I would give the people of Paradise food, drink and clothing from what Allah has given me, and it would not lessen anything for me."
