Sayyiduna Awf bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) said: During the expedition of Tabuk, in the last part of the night, I came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) while he (peace and blessings be upon him) was in his tent. I gave him greetings of peace and said: May I come in? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Come in." I said: All of me? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "All of you." Then he said: "Six things before the Hour. The first: the death of your Prophet; say: one." I said: One. "And the second: the conquest of Bayt al-Maqdis (Jerusalem); say: two." I said: Two. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "And the third: a plague that will seize you like the plague of sheep; say: three." I said: Three. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "And the fourth: wealth will spread among you so much that a man will be given a hundred dinars and he will be displeased; say: four. And the fifth: a trial will arise among you that will enter every house, of mud or of hair; say: five." I said: Five. "And the sixth: a truce will take place between you and Banu al-Asfar (the Romans); they will keep gathering against you for the length of a woman's pregnancy, then they will betray you and advance under eighty banners, under each banner twelve thousand soldiers."
