Sayyiduna A'idh bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: On the day of Hunayn, while I was fighting in front of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), an arrow struck me in my face. When the blood flowed over my face, my beard and my chest, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) took hold of my hand, and the blood flowed from my face and chest down to my breasts; then he (peace and blessings be upon him) supplicated for me. Hashraj says: A'idh (may Allah be pleased with him) used to tell us about this during his lifetime. Then when he passed away and we washed him, we saw that the trace of the hand of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that he used to describe to us was there, just as he said, down to his chest: a flowing whiteness like the white blaze on a horse's forehead.
