حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ الزُّبَيْدِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو حُمَةَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، ثنا أَبُو قُرَّةَ، قَالَ: ذَكَرَ زَمْعَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، عَنْ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ عَطَاءٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ مُطْعِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: قَدِمْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فِي فِدَاءِ أَهْلِ بَدْرٍ، فَلَمَّا كَلَّمْتُهُ قَالَ: «لَوْ كَانَ مُطْعِمُ بْنُ عَدِيٍّ عِنْدِي، ثُمَّ كَلَّمَنِي فِي هَؤُلَاءِ لَأَطْلَقْتُهُمْ لَهُ» وَكَانَ لِمَطْعَمِ بْنِ عَدِيٍّ، عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَدٌ "
Sayyiduna Jubayr bin Mut'im (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: I came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) regarding the ransom of the people of Badr. When I spoke to him (peace and blessings be upon him), he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If Mut'im bin Adi were with me and then spoke to me about them, I would have released them for his sake."
And Mut'im bin Adi had done a favour for the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).
