حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ، ثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، عَنْ جَرِيرِ بْنِ حَازِمٍ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ الْمِصْرِيِّ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ، عَنْ مَرْثَدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْيَزَنِيِّ - أَظُنُّهُ عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ - قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «ثَلَاثَةٌ مَنْ نَجَا مِنْهَا نَجَا، مَنْ نَجَا عِنْدَ قَتْلِ مُؤْمِنٍ فَقَدْ نَجَا، وَمَنْ نَجَا عِنْدَ قَتْلِ خَلِيفَةٍ قُتِلَ مَظْلُومًا وَهُوَ مُصْطَبِرٌ يُعْطِي الْحَقَّ مِنْ نَفْسِهِ فَقَدْ نَجَا، وَمَنْ نَجَا مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الدَّجَّالِ فَقَدْ نَجَا»
Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir al-Juhani (may Allah be pleased with him) (the narrator thought it was from him) said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There are three things; whoever is saved from them is saved: whoever is saved at the time of the killing of a believer is saved; whoever is saved at the time of the killing of a caliph who is killed wrongfully while being patient and giving what is due from himself is saved; and whoever is saved from the trial of the Dajjal is saved."
