Sayyiduna Abu Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The people had completed thirty days of Ramadan and began the morning fasting, when two men came and testified that they had sighted the new moon the previous day. So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded the people, and they broke their fast.
Al-Tabarani said: No one narrated this hadith from Ibn Uyaynah, or from anyone else, on the authority of Abu Mas'ud, except Ishaq bin Isma'il al-Talaqani.
