حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ، ثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْجُعْفِيُّ، عَنْ زَائِدَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ رِبْعِيِّ بْنِ حِرَاشٍ قَالَ: قَالَ عُقْبَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو لِحُذَيْفَةَ: أَلَا تُحَدِّثُنَا مَا سَمِعْتَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ؟ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ: «إِنَّ مَعَ الدَّجَّالِ إِذَا خَرَجَ مَاءً وَنَارًا، أَمَّا الَّذِي يَرَاهُ النَّاسُ أَنَّهُ نَارٌ فَمَاءٌ بَارِدٌ، فَمَنْ أَدْرَكَ ذَلِكَ مِنْكُمْ فَلْيَقَعْ فِي الَّذِي يَرَى النَّاسُ أَنَّهُ نَارٌ فَإِنَّهُ مَاءٌ عَذْبٌ بَارِدٌ» . فَقَالَ عُقْبَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو: وَأَنَا سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ ذَلِكَ.
Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) said to Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him): "Will you not narrate to us the hadith you heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)?" He said: I heard him (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "When the Dajjal emerges, he will have water and fire with him. What the people see as fire will in reality be cool water. So whoever of you lives to see that, let him fall into what the people see as fire, for it will be sweet, cool water." Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I too heard this hadith from him (peace and blessings be upon him).
