It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A man from among those before you was brought to account, and no good deed was found for him except that he used to deal with people and he was well-off, and he used to order his slave to overlook (the debts of) those in hardship. Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, said: 'We are more entitled to (overlook) than him,' and so he is pardoned."
Abu Bakr bin Abi Shaybah said in his narration: "We are more entitled than him to overlook him," and so he was pardoned.
