Sayyiduna Abu Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from a man of the Ansar whose kunyah was Abu Shu'ayb that he said: I came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and recognised (the signs of) hunger on his (peace and blessings be upon him) face. Then I met a slave of mine who was a butcher and ordered him to prepare food for five men. Then I invited the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) came as the fifth, and a man followed them. When he reached the door, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This man has followed us; if you wish, permit him, otherwise he will go back." So I permitted him.
