حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ بْنِ نَجْدَةَ الْحَوْطِيُّ، ثَنَا أَبِي ح، وَحَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ حَمْزَةَ، ثَنَا حَيْوَةُ بْنُ شُرَيْحٍ الحِمْصِيُّ قَالَا: ثَنَا بَقِيَّةُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ، عَنْ بَحِيرِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ مَعْدَانَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو السُّلَمِيِّ، عَنْ عُتْبَةَ بْنِ عَبْدٍ السُّلَمِيِّ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا، سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى الله عَلَيْه وَسَلَّمَ «كَيْفَ كَان أَوَّلُ شَأْنِكَ» فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Utbah bin Abd al-Sulami (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): How was the beginning of your affair? Then (the narrator) mentioned the hadith.
