عمير مولى آبي اللحم الغفاري واسم آبي اللحم عبد الله بن عبد بن مالك بن عبد الله بن عفان وكان آبي اللحم شاعرا وشهد عمير فتح خيبر وإنما سمي آبي اللحم لأنه كان يمتنع من أكل اللحم.
Umayr (may Allah be pleased with him), freed slave of Abi al-Lahm al-Ghifari; the name of Abi al-Lahm was Abdullah bin Abd bin Malik bin Abdullah bin Affan; he was a poet; Umayr was present at the conquest of Khaybar; he was called Abi al-Lahm because he refrained from eating meat

حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْوَاسِطِيُّ، ثَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ بَقِيَّةَ، أَنَا خَالِدٌ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ عُمَيْرٍ، مَوْلَى آبِي اللَّحْمِ قَالَ: «شَهِدْتُ خَيْبَرَ مَعَ سَادَتِي فَأَمَرَنِي نَبِيُّ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَتَقَلَّدْتُ سَيْفًا، فَإِذَا أَنَا أَجُرُّهُ وَأُخْبِرَ أَنِّي مَمْلُوكٌ، فَأَمَرَ لِي بِشَيْءٍ مِنْ خُرْثِيِّ الْمَتَاعِ»
Sayyiduna Umayr, the freed slave of Abi al-Lahm (may Allah be pleased with him), said: I was present at Khaybar with my masters. The Prophet of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered me, so I hung a sword on myself, but I was dragging it (along the ground). He (peace and blessings be upon him) was told that I was a slave, so he (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered some minor items from the goods for me.
