عمير مولى آبي اللحم الغفاري واسم آبي اللحم عبد الله بن عبد بن مالك بن عبد الله بن عفان وكان آبي اللحم شاعرا وشهد عمير فتح خيبر وإنما سمي آبي اللحم لأنه كان يمتنع من أكل اللحم.
Umayr (may Allah be pleased with him), freed slave of Abi al-Lahm al-Ghifari; the name of Abi al-Lahm was Abdullah bin Abd bin Malik bin Abdullah bin Affan; he was a poet; Umayr was present at the conquest of Khaybar; he was called Abi al-Lahm because he refrained from eating meat

حَدَّثَنَا فُضَيْلُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمَلْطِيُّ، ثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، ثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ عُمَيْرٍ، مَوْلَى آبِي اللَّحْمِ قَالَ: أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ خَيْبَرَ وَأَنَا عَبْدٌ مَمْلُوكٌ فَقُلْتُ: أَعْطِنِي فَأَعْطَانِي سَيْفًا وَقَالَ: «تَقَلَّدْ بِهِ» فَأَخَذْتُهُ فَتَقَلَدَّتُهُ فَوَقَعَ فِي الْأَرْضِ، ثُمَّ أَعْطَانِي مِنْ خُرْثِيِّ الْمَتَاعِ
Sayyiduna Umayr, the freed slave of Abi al-Lahm (may Allah be pleased with him), said: I came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on the day of Khaybar, and at that time I was a slave (owned by a master). I said: "Give me something too." So he (peace and blessings be upon him) gave me a sword and said: "Hang it on yourself." I took it and hung it on myself, but it fell to the ground. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) gave me some odds and ends from the goods.
