Companions Whose Names Begin with Ayn (ع)
عمير مولى آبي اللحم الغفاري واسم آبي اللحم عبد الله بن عبد بن مالك بن عبد الله بن عفان وكان آبي اللحم شاعرا وشهد عمير فتح خيبر وإنما سمي آبي اللحم لأنه كان يمتنع من أكل اللحم.
Umayr (may Allah be pleased with him), freed slave of Abi al-Lahm al-Ghifari; the name of Abi al-Lahm was Abdullah bin Abd bin Malik bin Abdullah bin Affan; he was a poet; Umayr was present at the conquest of Khaybar; he was called Abi al-Lahm because he refrained from eating meat
Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 14198 — he said: I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ

حَدَّثَنَا الْمِقْدَامُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ، ثَنَا أَسَدُ بْنُ مُوسَى، ثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ زَيْدِ بْنِ مُهَاجِرِ بْنِ قُنْفُذٍ، عَنْ عُمَيْرٍ مَوْلَى آبِي اللَّحْمِ قَالَ: «رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى أَحْجَارِ الزَّيْتِ يَسْتَسْقِي رَافِعًا بَطْنَ كَفَّيْهِ»
It is narrated from Umayr, the freed slave of Abi al-Lahm (may Allah be pleased with him), that he said: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) at Ahjar al-Zayt praying for rain, with the inner sides of both his palms raised up.
