حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، ثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي أُوَيْسٍ، حَدَّثَنِي كَثِيرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْمُزَنِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، أَنَّ النَّبِيّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «إِنَّ الدِّينَ لَيَأْزِرُ إِلَى الْحِجَازِ كَمَا تَأْزِرُ الْحَيَّةُ إِلَى جُحْرِهَا، وَلَيَعْقِلَنَّ الدِّينُ مِنَ الْحِجَازِ مَعْقِلَ الْأُرْوِيَّةِ مِنْ رَأْسِ الْجَبَلِ، إِنَّ الدِّينَ بَدَأَ غَرِيبًا وَيَرْجِعُ غَرِيبًا، فَطُوبَى لِلْغُرَبَاءِ الَّذِينَ يُصْلِحُونَ مَا أَفْسَدَ النَّاسُ بَعْدِي مِنْ سُنَّتِي»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Amr bin Awf bin Milhah al-Muzani (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The religion will draw back to the Hijaz just as a snake draws back into its hole, and the religion will take refuge in the Hijaz just as the mountain goat takes refuge on the mountain top. The religion began as something strange and will return to being strange, so glad tidings to the strangers who will set right what the people have corrupted of my Sunnah after me."
