Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 13883 — the Prophet ﷺ said: If I were to take

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْخَلَّالُ الْمَكِّيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ السَّرِيِّ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: «لَوْ كُنْتُ مُتَّخِذًا خَلِيلًا غَيْرَ رَبِّي لَاتَّخَذْتُ أَبَا بَكْرٍ خَلِيلًا، وَلَكِنْ أَخِي وَصَاحِبِي فِي الْغَارِ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If I were to take anyone besides my Lord as an intimate friend, I would have taken Abu Bakr as an intimate friend; but he is my brother and my companion in the cave."
