حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْفِرْيَابِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَحْرٍ الْهُجَيْمِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ سَالِمٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، يَقُولُ: «مَنْ قَرَأَ الْقُرْآنَ ظَاهِرًا أَوْ نَظَرًا أُعْطِيَ شَجَرَةً فِي الْجَنَّةِ، لَوْ أَنَّ غُرَابًا فَرَّخَ تَحْتَ وَرَقَةٍ مِنْهَا ثُمَّ أَدْرَكَ ذَلِكَ الْفَرْخَ الْهَرَمُ، فَنَهَضَ لَأَدْرَكَهُ الْهَرَمُ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَقْطَعَ تِلْكَ الْوَرَقَةَ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "Whoever recites the Qur'an from memory or by looking at it will be given a tree in Paradise such that, if a crow were to hatch a chick beneath one of its leaves, and then that chick grew old and wanted to fly, old age would overtake it before it could cross that leaf (so vast will that tree be)."
