حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثنا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ حَسَّانَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ، عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ أَوْسٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: «أَبُو بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقُ أَصَبْتُمْ، اسْمُهُ عُمَرُ قَرْنٌ مِنْ حَدِيدٍ، عُثْمَانُ ذُو النُّورَيْنِ أَصَبْتُمُ اسْمَهُ، قُتِلَ مَظْلُومًا أُوتِيَ كِفْلَيْنِ مِنَ الْأَجْرِ»
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: "Abu Bakr al-Siddiq: you have hit upon his name correctly. Umar was a horn of iron. Uthman Dhu al-Nurayn: you have hit upon his name correctly; he was killed wrongfully, and he was given a double reward for it."
