Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that we were sitting with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) when suddenly he mentioned the fitnah (tribulation), or it was mentioned in his presence, and he said: "When you see that people's covenants have become loose, their trusts have become light, and they have become like this," and he interlaced his fingers. He said: I stood up and went to him and said: What should I do at that time, may Allah make me your ransom? He said: "Stay in your home, keep control of your tongue, adopt what you know (to be good) and leave what you consider evil, and concern yourself with your own particular affair and leave the affair of the common people."
