حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ، ثنا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ يَحْيَى زَحْمَوَيْهِ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ سِنَانٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ الْمُنْكَدِرِ، يَقُولُ: لَقِيَ لَاقٍ ابْنَ عُمَرَ وَهُوَ عَلَى نَابٍ جَمْعَاءَ لَا تَسْوَى عَشَرَةَ دَرَاهِمَ، فَقَالَ لَهُ: يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَلَى هَذِهِ تَحُجُّ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «لَا تَدَعِ الْحَجَّ، وَلَوْ عَلَى نَابٍ جَمْعَاءَ تَسْوَى عَشْرَةَ دَرَاهِمَ» فَوَاللهِ مَا حَضَرَنِي مِنْ ظَهْرِي غَيْرُهَا، وَمَا كُنْتُ لِأَدَعَ الْحَجَّ
Muhammad bin al-Munkadir (may Allah have mercy on him) says: A man met Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) while he was riding an old she-camel that was not worth even ten dirhams. He said to him: O Abu Abd al-Rahman! Will you perform Hajj on this? He said: Yes, I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Do not abandon Hajj, even if it is on a she-camel worth ten dirhams." By Allah! I had no mount available other than her, and I was not one to abandon Hajj.
