حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْحَرَّانِيُّ، ثنا أَبِي، ثنا زُهَيْرٌ، ثنا مُوسَى بْنُ عُقْبَةَ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَنْ جَرَّ ثِيَابَهُ مِنَ الْخُيَلَاءِ لَمْ يَنْظُرِ اللهُ إِلَيْهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ» ، فَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقُ: أَيْ رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ أَحَدَ شِقَّيْ إِزَارِي يَسْتَرْخِي إِلَّا أَنْ أَتَعَاهَدُ ذَاكَ أَوْ ذَلِكَ مِنْهُ، قَالَ: «لَسْتَ مِمَّنْ يَصْنَعُهُ خُيَلَاءَ»
Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever drags his garment out of arrogance, Allah will not look at him with mercy on the Day of Resurrection." At this, Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) said: O Messenger of Allah! One side of my lower garment slips down by itself, unless I take special care of it. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You are not among those who do that out of arrogance."
