حَدَّثَنَا مُطَّلِبُ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ الْأَزْدِيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، حَدَّثَنِي اللَّيْثُ، عَنْ بَكْرِ بْنِ مُضَرَ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الْخَيْرِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ وَعْلَةَ السَّبَأِيِّ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: لِعَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ: نَغْزُو الْمَغْرِبَ فَكَيْفَ تَرَى فِي قِرَبِهِمْ؟ فَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ: «لَا بَأْسَ بِهَا» ، فَقُلْتُ: أَمِنْ رَأْيِكَ أَوْ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ؟، قَالَ: «بَلْ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ»
Abd al-Rahman bin Wa'lah al-Saba'i narrates that he said to Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both): We go on campaigns in the lands of the West, so what is your view about their waterskins? Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: "There is no harm in them." I asked: Is this your own opinion, or from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)? He said: "Rather, it is from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)."
