حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو يَزِيدَ الْقَرَاطِيسِيُّ، ثنا أَسَدُ بْنُ مُوسَى، ثنا سَلَّامُ بْنُ مِسْكِينٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ، قَالَ: قَالَت امْرَأَةُ عُثْمَانَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ حِينَ أَطَافُوا بِهِ يُرِيدُونَ قَتْلَهُ: «إِنْ تَقْتُلُوهُ أَوْ تَتْرُكُوهُ فَإِنَّهُ كَانَ يُحْيِي اللَّيْلَ كُلَّهُ فِي رَكْعَةٍ يَجْمَعُ فِيهَا الْقُرْآنَ»
Muhammad bin Sirin said: When the people surrounded Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) intending to kill him, his wife said: "Whether you kill him or leave him, he used to spend the whole night in a single rak'ah, reciting the entire Qur'an in it."
