حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُدَيْرٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ شَقِيقٍ قَالَ: كَانَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ يَخْطُبُ عَشِيَّةً فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ: الصَّلَاةَ، فَقَالَ: «لَا أُمَّ لَكَ تُعْلِمُنَا بِوَقْتِهَا كُنَّا نَجْمَعُ بَيْنَهُمَا عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ»
Abdullah bin Shaqiq narrates: Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) was delivering a sermon one evening when a man said: The time of prayer has come! He said: "May your mother lose you! Do you inform us of its time? We used to combine the two prayers in the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)."
