Abu Mijlaz from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him)
Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 12853 — the (large) banner of the Messenger
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ، وَمُوسَى بْنُ هَارُونَ، قَالَا: ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْحَجَّاجِ، ثنا حِبَّانُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ أَبُو زُهَيْرٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ بُرَيْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مِجْلَزٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ: «أَنَّ رَايَةَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَتْ سَوْدَاءَ، وَلِوَاؤُهُ أَبْيَضُ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the (large) banner of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was black, and his (peace and blessings be upon him) (small) flag was white.
