حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الْمَكِّيُّ، ثنا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، حَدَّثَنَا غَالِبُ بْنُ حُجْرَةَ، حَدَّثَنِي مِلْقَامُ بْنُ التَّلِبِّ، أَنَّ التَّلِبَّ، حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّهُ، أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ اسْتَغْفِرْ لِي، فَقَالَ: إِذَا أُذِنَ لَكَ، أَوْ حَتَّى يُؤْذَنَ لَكَ قَالَ: فَغَبَّرَ مَا شَاءَ اللهُ، ثُمَّ دَعَاهُ، فَمَسَحَ يَدَهُ عَلَى وَجْهِهِ، وَقَالَ: «اللهُمَّ اغْفِرْ للِتَلِبٍ، وَارْحَمْهُ ثَلَاثًا»
Al-Talibb (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that he came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "O Messenger of Allah, ask forgiveness for me." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When you are given permission," or "until you are given permission." The narrator said: Then as much time passed as Allah willed; then he (peace and blessings be upon him) called him, passed his hand over his face and said three times: "O Allah, forgive al-Talibb and have mercy on him."
