Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 12641 — Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be)

Abu al-Juwayriyah al-Jarmi (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated: Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: Do you know about what this verse was revealed: "O you who believe, do not ask about things which, if made plain to you, would distress you" [Al-Ma'idah: 101]? Some people used to ask the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) questions in mockery; a man would say: Who is my father? And another would say: My she-camel is lost; where is my she-camel? So Allah revealed this verse.
