حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ الْمُؤَدِّبُ، ثنا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْعَطَّارُ، ثنا زُهَيْرٌ، عَنْ أَبِي الْجُوَيْرِيَةِ الْجَرْمِيِّ قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، عَنِ الْبَاذَقِ، فَقَالَ: «سَبَقَ مُحَمَّدٌ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْبَاذَقُ مَا أَسْكَرَ فَهُوَ حَرَامٌ»
Abu al-Juwayriyah al-Jarmi (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated: I asked Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) about badhaq (a drink made from grape juice), and he said: "Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) came before badhaq; whatever intoxicates is unlawful."
