Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 12608 — the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: The most
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ بَكْرٍ السَّرَّاجُ الْعَسْكَرِيُّ، ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّرْجُمَانِيُّ، ثنا سَعْدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْجُرْجَانِيُّ، عَنْ نَهْشَلٍ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ الرَّاسِبِيِّ، عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ بْنِ مُزَاحِمٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «أَشْرَافُ أُمَّتِي حَمَلَةُ الْقُرْآنِ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The most honoured of my Ummah are the bearers of the Qur'an (those who memorise it)."
