Said bin Jubayr from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him)
Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 12461 — I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying

حَدَّثَنَا الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحِيمِ أَبُو يَحْيَى، ثنا صَدَقَةُ بْنُ سَابِقٍ، ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ قَرْمٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «مَا بَعَثَ اللهُ نَبِيًّا إِلَى قَوْمٍ، فَقَبَضَهُ إِلَّا جَعَلَ بَعْدَهُ فَتْرَةً، ثُمَّ يَمْلَأُ مِنْ تِلْكَ الْفَتْرَةِ جَهَنَّمَ»
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "Allah Almighty did not send any prophet to a people and then take him back, except that He placed after him a fatrah (an interval period), and then He fills Hell from (the people of) that interval."
