Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 12174 — The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade

حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ يَحْيَى السَّاجِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، ثنا بَكْرُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ زَبَّانَ، ثنا حَبَّانُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: «إِنَّمَا حَرَّمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْحُمُرَ الْأَهْلِيَّةَ مَخَافَةَ قِلَّةِ الظَّهْرِ»
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade domestic donkeys only out of fear that the riding animals would become few."
