Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 12076 — the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent Sayyiduna

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sent Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) and ordered him to proclaim these words, then sent Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) after him. While Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) was on the way, he heard the grumbling of the she-camel of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) came out alarmed, thinking it was the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), but it turned out to be Ali (may Allah be pleased with him). He handed him the letter of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), in which he (peace and blessings be upon him) had appointed him (Abu Bakr) leader over the Hajj season, and had ordered Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) to proclaim these words. So they both set off and performed Hajj. Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) stood during the Days of Tashriq and proclaimed: "The protection of Allah and the protection of His Messenger is free of every polytheist; so travel freely in the land for four months. After this year no polytheist shall perform Hajj, no naked person shall circumambulate the House, and none shall enter Paradise except a believer." Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) kept proclaiming this, and when his voice became hoarse, Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) stood and proclaimed it.
