حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثنا عَمِّي الْقَاسِمُ، ثنا عَبَّادُ بْنُ الْعَوَّامِ، عَنْ حَجَّاجٍ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ، عَنْ مِقْسَمٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ «خَطَبَ مَيْمُونَةَ بِنْتَ الْحَارِثِ، فَجَعَلَتْ أَمَرَهَا إِلَى الْعَبَّاسِ فَزَوَّجَهَا إِيَّاهُ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) proposed marriage to Sayyidah Maymunah bint al-Harith (may Allah be pleased with her). She entrusted her affair to Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him), and he married her to him (peace and blessings be upon him).
