حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُونُسَ، ثنا الْمُعَافَى بْنُ عِمْرَانَ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ بُرْقَانَ، عَنْ مَيْمُونِ بْنِ مِهْرَانَ، عَنْ مِقْسَمٍ أَبِي الْقَاسِمِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حِينَ " افْتَتَحَ خَيْبَرَ اشْتَرَطَ عَلَيْهِمْ أَنَّ لَهُ الْأَرْضَ وَكُلَّ صَفْرَاءَ وَبَيْضَاءَ، يَعْنِي الذَّهَبَ وَالْفِضَّةَ، فَقَالَ لَهُ أَهْلُ خَيْبَرَ نَحْنُ أَعْلَمُ بِالْأَرْضِ فَأَعْطِنَاهَا عَلَى أَنْ نَعْمَلَ فِيهَا، وَيَكُونَ لَنَا نِصْفُ الثَّمَرَةِ وَلَكُمْ نِصْفُهَا، فَذَكَرَ أَنَّهُ أَعْطَاهُمْ عَلَى ذَلِكَ فَلَمَّا كَانَ حِينَ يُصْرَمُ النَّخْلُ بَعَثَ إِلَيْهِمْ ابْنَ رَوَاحَةَ فَحَزَرَ النَّخْلَ وَهُوَ الَّذِي يَدْعُوهُ أَهْلُ الْمَدِينَةِ الْخَرْصَ فَقَالَ: فِي ذَا كَذَا وَكَذَا فَقَالُوا: أَكْثَرْتَ عَلَيْنَا يَا ابْنَ رَوَاحَةَ قَالَ: فَإِنِّي أَلِي حِزْرَ النَّخْلِ فَأُعْطيكُمْ نِصْفَ الَّذِي قُلْتُ، قَالُوا: هَذَا الْحَقُّ وَبِهِ قَامَتِ السَّماَوَاتُ وَالْأَرْضُ رَضِينَا أَنْ تَأْخُذَ الَّذِي قُلْتَ "
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) conquered Khaybar, he stipulated to them that the land and all gold and silver would be his (peace and blessings be upon him). The people of Khaybar said to him (peace and blessings be upon him): We know the land better, so give it to us so that we work it, with half the produce for us and half for you. The narrator says: He (peace and blessings be upon him) gave them the land on that condition. Then, when it was time to cut the dates, he (peace and blessings be upon him) sent Ibn Rawahah (may Allah be pleased with him) to them, and he estimated the dates - what the people of Madinah call 'khars' (estimation) - and said: In this there is such-and-such. They said: You have assessed too much against us, O Ibn Rawahah! He said: I am in charge of the estimate, so I will give you half of what I said. They said: This is the truth, and by it the heavens and the earth stand; we are content that you take what you said.
