Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 11786 — a man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: O

حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ هَارُونَ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ، ثنا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِي اللهُ عَنْهُمَا، أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: يَا نَبِيَّ اللهِ إِنَّ أَبِي شَيْخٌ كَبِيرٌ عَلِيلٌ يَشُقُّ عَلِيَّ الْقِيَامُ، فَمُرْنِي بِلَيْلَةٍ لَعَلَّ اللهَ أَنْ يُوَفِّقَنِي فِيهَا لَلَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ، قَالَ: «عَلَيْكَ بِالسَّابِعَةِ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Prophet of Allah! My father is very old and ill, and standing (in night prayer) is hard for me, so tell me of a night in which perhaps Allah will grant me to find the Night of Decree (Laylat al-Qadr). He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Hold fast to the seventh."
