The son of Sayyiduna Budayl bin Warqa' (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from his father that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) went among the gathering of Khuza'ah on the day of al-Hudaybiyah, and wrote to them, and to Budayl bin Warqa' and the chiefs of Banu Amr: "Peace be upon you. I praise before you Allah, besides whom there is no true god. To proceed: I have not been remiss in your affairs, nor have I neglected any right of yours. The most honoured of the people of Tihamah in my sight are you and those of the Mutayyabin who follow you. And for whoever of you emigrates, I have secured the same as I have secured for myself, even if he emigrates within his own land, not residing in Makkah. And you are neither afraid of me, nor will you be made afraid." These or similar were the words.
