Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 11705 — the Prophet ﷺ said: Do not go ahead

حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ، ثنا عَبَّادُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الْأَسَدِيُّ، ثنا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي ثَوْرٍ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «لَا تَقَدَّمُوا الشَّهْرَ صُومُوا لِرُؤْيَتِهِ وَأَفْطِرُوا لِرُؤْيَتِهِ، فَإِنْ كَانَتْ بَيْنَكُمْ وَبَيْنَهُ غَيَايَةٌ، فَأَتِمُّوا الْعِدَّةَ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not go ahead of the month. Fast upon sighting it and break your fast upon sighting it, and if clouds come between you and it, then complete the count."
