Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 11704 — The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Fast

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ النَّضْرِ الْأَزْدِيُّ، ثنا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، ثنا زَائِدَةُ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «صُومُوا لِرُؤْيَتِهِ وَأَفْطِرُوا لِرُؤْيَتِهِ، فَإِنْ حَالَ دُونَهُ غَيَايَةٌ، فَأَكْمِلُوا الْعِدَّةَ، وَالشَّهْرُ تِسْعٌ وَعِشْرُونَ»
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Fast upon sighting it and break your fast upon sighting it, and if clouds come in between, then complete the count. And the month is twenty-nine days."
